The S25 silk set issued by Egyptienne Luxury showcases many of the most famous universities and colleges in the United Stats and Canada. It also inexplicably includes a number of very obscure schools in the mix. How schools were selected for the S25 set is unknown but schools that are known in the L20 and L21 leather sets are not all in the silk sets and vice-versa. Notable exclusions in the S25 sets include mainstream colleges like North Carolina, Alabama and many more. The set is also good for variation collectors as there are a number of color variations for some of the schools. Still, fans of very tough subjects will love the hunt for the extremely elusive Amity college. The S25 offers a number of ways to collect a set and is great for alumni of schools to get a type card from their institution

Little is known about the Amity silk's rarity but they are more elusive than any other silk in the set by multitudes. They do crop up from time to time and are quickly part of bidding wars from the people who collect the set to be able to complete their set.

Even less may be known about Amity College. Amity College was located in College Springs, Iowa--a town with a current population of 214. It operated from 1855 until 1913--about the time when the S25 silks were being put into packages of cigarettes. More detail about Amity can be found at

This lot is for a single S25 Egyptienne Luxury silk featuring Amity College--the unquestioned key to the set. This copy is in about what we would consider to be VG to VGEX condition with no real issues. Rare in any condition, this will likely complete the set of a long-time collector or be a key to a world-class silk type set. The bottom margin of the silk does have some light pulls but it doesn't detract from the look nor rarity of the silk and is very common for the issue.
